HOUSTONThe National Alliance of Buy Here Pay Here Dealers (NABD) today announced the agenda for its 12th Annual National Conference at the Venetian Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

The conference theme is “Doing the Right Things” and all sessions will include an operator’s perspective with practical tips on how to prosper.

“We made changes in the educational sessions this year which attendees have suggested. Such changes include more interactive panels; including separate sessions with larger and smaller operators who will share their best practices,” said NABD Founder Kenneth Shilson

Attendees can participate in “dual-track” workshops, which cover the topics of finding capital, locating the right inventory at affordable costs, reducing bad debt losses, reducing costs and expenses, and compliance.

“The education and exhibitor sessions address all these areas and will provide attendees with proven strategies to capitalize on the exceptional BHPH profit opportunities of today,” Shilson added.

The conference begins Tuesday, May 11 at 1 p.m., and includes sessions on insurance and reinsurance, products that mitigate bad debt losses, compliance, best operating practices, payment devices and an economic overview. Featured presenters on Tuesday include Tom Webb, Manheim’s chief economist, and several of the nation’s leading attorneys and other industry experts. These opening educational sessions will be followed by a gala welcome reception with over 125 exhibitors starting at 6 p.m.

On Wednesday, the morning sessions begin at 7:30 a.m. with an inspirational session conducted by John Linnehan Jr. and followed by hall of fame speaker Jim Tunney, the Dean of NFL Officials. Other sessions include a capital markets update, interactive panels with leading capital providers, a presentation covering important trends and industry benchmarks, and a networking luncheon with all the exhibitors.

Afternoon sessions on Wednesday resume at 1 p.m. and focus on “best operating practices for smaller operators,” an Internet best practices panel with dealers, and sessions by auction and vehicle acquisition experts to help attendees find the best BHPH vehicles. A cocktail reception at 6 p.m. will follow.

On Thursday, attendees can participate in workshop sessions in two different tracks. One track focuses on motivation, systems and processes, tax reduction strategies, accounting matters, and portfolio analysis. The other track involves inventory acquisition and reconditioning training, maximizing recoveries, and a compliance workshop with leading attorneys. The conference concludes at 4 p.m.

“Whether you are new to BHPH or have several years of experience, this conference will benefit you. A major part of ‘doing the right things’ is identifying new profit opportunities, industry changes, and ways to capitalize on them,” Shilson said.

A detailed agenda is available online at www.bhphinfo.com where attendees can also register for the conference. For additional information or questions call (713) 290-8171.
