LAS VEGAS — On Saturday, Sept. 29, Barrett Jackson will auction the last vehicles owned, titled, and registered to Burt Reynolds, the recently departed star of such classic car movies as “Smokey and the Bandit,” “Hooper,” and “The Cannonball Run,” at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, capping a three-day auction event.

“We all miss Burt. He was a true Hollywood legend,” said Laura Dotson, co-owner of American Auctioneers. “His family is moving forward with the auction, just as Burt would have wished. As he would say, ‘The show must go on!’”

The event is expected to attract collectors and enthusiasts as well as celebrities, friends, and family members, some of whom will gather onstage at the auction to take part in a tribute to the late actor.

Vehicles to be auctioned include recreations of Reynolds’ signature Pontiac Firebird Trans Ams from “Smokey and the Bandit” and “Hooper” as well as a heavily modified and customized Chevrolet Silverado pickup that served as the official “Indy Hauler” at the 64th annual Indy 500 in 1990.
