AUSTIN, Texas -- IAS released the newest version of its menu software, SmartMenu 3.2. It has a more flexible interface, more menu customizations and additional compliance features.

The SmartMenu lets dealers display two to four packages per deal type, including lease deals, with completely separate settings per deal type. It also lets users set default product prices and term interest amounts. With SmartMenu 3.2, dealers can compute and display up to two terms on lease and balloon menus.

Dealers can also customize text, size, menu title, package names, and product names and description. A new feature is the option to customize the terminology used for calculating a lease versus a retail contract. This allows for more appropriate and compliant disclosure during the menu presentation to a customer who chooses to lease rather than buy.

The font size and location of the menu disclaimer can also be customized. Additionally, SmartMenu 3.2 includes a "print final recap" feature with completely scalable and flexible compliance statements and disclosure language. These disclosure statements can be positioned in large, obvious font styles. They can contain scalable disclosure information depending on the recommendations of local dealer associations or dealership counsel.

"As the scrutiny of dealership processes steadily increases, we need a system that portrays our F&I product offerings in a professional and consumer-focused manner, while also facilitating our compliance efforts," said Steve Straske, vice president and corporate counsel for the Ferman Group in Tampa, Fla. "We are confident that SmartMenu 3.2 will allow us to be more effective in our compliance strategy while ensuring that we are meeting our objectives for profit and CSI."

SmartMenu software is available immediately and is free to IAS dealerships.
