SAN FRANCISCO — Pinterest rolled out a new web analytics tool designed to help marketers monitor what users have pinned from their site, as well as how many have seen the pins and followed them back to their source.

Pinterest Web Analytics will also show site owners their most repinned, most clicked on, and most recent pins. To use the service, site owners must first verify their site on Pinterest, a feature that allows marketers to verify ownership of their website on their Pinterest profile.

“Web Analytics gives site owners insights into how people are interacting with pins that originate from their websites,” the site stated in its March 12 blog.

The new feature builds on a set of tools Pinterest already offers to website owners, including business accounts, Pin It buttons and board widgets. More tools will be added in the coming months, according to the company.
