Portland, Ore. - CNW Research's latest Home & Shelter Update included a breakdown of where some taxpayers say they plan to spend their part of the federal tax-rebate stimulus package. Overall, 15.37% of respondents said they plan to spend their rebate in the automotive sector, trailing only Home Electronics (38.11%), Home Improvement (21.62%) and Pay Down Debt (19.54%). CNW also pointed out that only 5% of respondents plan to save or invest the money and that, if history and previous surveys are any indication, many of those who plan to put the money toward paying down debt will change their minds when the check arrives.
