Compli to Host ADA Amendments Act Compliance Webinar

November 25, 2008

PORTLAND, Ore. – Compli, in collaboration with Chris Hoffman of Fisher & Phillips LLP, will present an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Amendments Act Compliance Webinar on Dec. 11 at noon ET. Registration for the Webinar is free, but limited to the first 1,000 registrants.

The ADA Amendments Act, effective as of Jan. 1, 2009, requires major changes for most employers. The regulation will require almost all human resource professionals, managers and business owners to adopt new policies and procedures in dealing with accommodation requests, as well as greatly impact the defense of employment litigation claims.

The Webinar, "Major Changes Coming: Why You Need to Pay Attention to the New ADA Amendments Act," will cover what has specifically changed with the regulation, what the changes mean to employers, who will be affected by the changes, the risks and penalties of non-compliance and how to comply with the ADA Amendments Act requirements.

Owners, principals, CEOs, CFOs, human resource directors, general managers, sales managers, F&I managers, service managers, controllers and/or anyone designated as responsible for managing their company’s ADA Amendments Act update effort is encouraged to attend. Attendees/Companies do not need to be Compli clients to participate, but they must register online. Audio for this Webinar will not be available via a toll-free number.

"The ADA Amendments Act affects every one of our customers, and it has a mandatory effective date of Jan. 1, 2009," said Lon Leneve, president of Compli. "Chris Hoffman, who we've worked with since 2005, is a noted labor law authority and during this Webinar he will share how this sweeping new legislation significantly impacts all companies. Employers will need to revise their approaches and processes in order to handle a broader set of accommodation requests and they will need to reset their internal trainings and management practices to conform to the new requirements. This is a very important change that all companies need to understand, and we're very thankful that we have someone of Chris's caliber to walk us through the critical aspects of this act."
