AUBURN HILLS — Chrysler Group LLC is offering incentives through Sept. 30 on select 2009 and 2010 model year vehicles. The manufacturer also reported a five percent increase in August sales.

The manufacturer is offering zero percent financing for up to 72 months through GMAC Financial Services or up to $4,500 cash back on select 2009 model year Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles.

In addition, Chrysler is offering $2,000 cash back or special financing rates through GMAC on select 2010 model year Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles.

Chrysler also reported total U.S. sales for August of 93,222 units, an increase of five percent compared with July and a decrease of 15 percent compared with the same time period in 2008. Retail sales for August reached 68,958 units.

Dealership traffic continued at a high level in August partly due to “Cash for Clunkers” program, the manufacturer said.

“The CARS program gave a boost to the industry in August, and as a result, we've increased production by more than 50,000 units,” said Peter Fong, president and chief executive officer of Chrysler Brand and lead executive for the sales organization of Chrysler Group LLC.
