The National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) has submitted a statement to General Motors Chairman Jack Smith and other members of GM's leadership outlining appropriate considerations for a "fair transition and compensation" for Oldsmobile dealers.

NADA's Industry Relations team, led by Chairman Harold Wells, IR Committee Chairman Lou Kairys and GM IR Line Chairman Alan Starling, developed the statement based on dealer feedback and a recent meeting with Oldsmobile

dealer representatives from around the country, according to NADA officials.

GM announced on Dec. 12 that it would cease to develop new Oldsmobile products and would "phase

out" the line.

NADA members can view details of the NADA statement at the members only section of NADA's Web site, www.nada.org.
