UCC Ventures Into the Web

Although the automotive industry has sometimes been slow to adapt to the age of the World Wide Web, United Car Care is forging the way with new and innovative Web sites.

As part of its forward-looking Web strategy, Greg Goben, the newest addition to the UCC team, has been named Web developer. He brings an extensive Internet background with him, according to Dan McNellis, president of United Car Care.

"We are extremely pleased to have Greg as a new member of our team," McNellis said. "As we move forward and lead the way in innovation and customer service, the Internet will become an increasingly important tool. Greg has been hired to develop and create these tools and we expect to see incredible results."

According to McNellis, UCC is in the process of creating a product that will be a first-ever for the service contract industry, and the Internet is definitely a big part of that product and its support. "We expect to really turmn some heads in the industry in June, and Greg's work will be an intricate part of that," McNellis said.

Goben comes to United Car Care from the Bay Area in California, where he was a senior programmer analyst. He has developed and maintained mainframe systems as well as enterprise client/server applications, with an emphasis on customer support functions.

He has also developed and enabled customer support tools for use over the Internet. "Greg is a very customer service oriented person and will be a great addition to the team," said Scott Harper, director of marketing at United Car Care.

"I'm very excited about coming to work for UCC," Goben said. "The attitude and spirit of the staff motivate a person to achieve success."
