In response to regulations issued by the Federal Trade Commission on privacy of consumers' financial information, the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) has developed a Dealer Guide to help members comply with the new requirements, which go into effect July 1.

Dealers' primary obligation will be to provide a privacy notice to all new credit and lease customers. There are additional responsibilities for dealers who hold credit or lease papers.

To learn more, go to NADA's Dealer Guide to the FTC Consumer Financial Privacy Regulation, available at www.nada.org.

NADA members can access members-only features with their membership number, which serves as a login user ID and password. To acquire login information, refer to the membership number on NADA invoices or use the account number on your

AutoExec magazine address label as your ID and password.

You can also contact the NADA Membership department at 1-800-252-NADA, option #6.
