Asbury Autogroup, one of the largest dealership groups in the United States, on June 13 announced that it has agreed to acquire luxury BMW and Porsche dealership Pegasus Motor Car Company in Charlottesville, Va. The dealership will be part of Asbury Automotive Group North Carolina, dba Crown Companies.

“We are pleased to expand our luxury brand offerings and regional presence in the Virginia market,” said Michael Kearney, president and chief operating officer of the Crown Companies. “By bringing new quality brands such as Porsche to our family of dealerships, we are better positioned to take advantage of this dynamic and growing market.”

The dealership will join Crown dealerships in North Carolina such as Crown Pontiac-GMC, Crown Volvo, Crown Mitsubishi, Crown Dodge, Crown Nissan, Crown Honda, Crown Acura, Crown Automall, Crown Isuzu and Crown Ford and in Virginia, Crown BMW/Acura.

“We are particularly excited about our growing presence in Virginia,” said Asbury Autogroup CEO Brian Kendrick. “It is an attractive, high-growth market.”
