National Auto Research, long known for its Black Book vehicle value guides, is now offering a line of business-to-business electronic products, services and Internet solutions.

New- and used-vehicle valuations and specifications, including projected residual values, are available on CD or by subscription from their website, www.BlackBookUSA.com. Also available in either format are values for older and exotic vehicles, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles and personal watercraft.

In addition to valuation products, Black Book also offers electronic VIN identification products and an Inventory Valuation program that creates an immediate “water” and aging report to help auto dealers manage their used-vehicle inventories. The program may be run from a remote location such as a central office or even home, and multiple inventories may be automatically batch processed.

For dealerships, financial institutions and other companies who wish to have Black Book values on their intranets or Web sites, there are Internet portals that allow them to frame the values on their own systems or sites for seamless access by their employees and clients.

Of particular interest to banks, leasing companies, fleet managers and rental car companies is the Portfolio/Inventory analysis service. Using this service, managers get current as well as end-of-term values for their vehicles, allowing them to determine optimum turnover times.

Finally, raw data files are available for those who wish to program Black Book data into their own systems or products for either internal use or resale.
