Turner Broadcasting System has signed a deal to have certain CNN segments aired on a TV network being proposed for car dealers' waiting lounges.

Dealers who buy the service from Charlotte-based TCG Enterprises will get lifestyle, travel and other light feature stories,

not breaking news. The dealers can show their own advertisements during commercial breaks.

Steve Gamaras, president of TCG, which provides

customer retention products to dealers, said CNN will get a share of the $595 a month he plans to charge for the Dealer Entertainment Network service. Gamaras and CNN declined to say how much money CNN expects to get from the service, which has not yet launched.

Turner Private Networks, a unit of Turner Broadcasting, has similar setups underway,

including canned news segments packaged for airlines, convention halls, Amtrak trains and waiting rooms at doctors' offices. The unit also

operates the CNN Airport Network.
