Dow Automotive announced May 24 it has
launched the first of three phases of its newly redesigned website,
www.dowautomotive.com. According to the company, the revamped site provides improved functionality and
enables users to quickly locate areas of interest, including business history,
product and application information, published papers, quality certifications,
community relations information, and executive profiles.
The site revitalization project will continue through the year, with
future plans including various language options, an improved product search
function, additional information on research and development activities, and
more information about Dow Automotive capabilities and services.
"The new site provides customers and the general public with a significant
amount of information about the growing capabilities of Dow Automotive," said
Tim Nasso, vice president of communications for Dow Automotive. "Our team has
created a website that clearly demonstrates the value of working with Dow
Automotive by providing information in a fast and effective manner."
Many factors contributed to the need for a redesigned site, including the
formation of Dow Automotive as an industry-focused business unit of The Dow
Chemical Company, as well as the integration of Essex Specialty Products, Inc.
and Gurit-Essex AG into the organization in the past two years.
Dow Automotive says it worked with the Bloomfield Hills, Mich. office of Organic,
Inc., a local web development agency on the design, content and technical
specifications of the project.
"Working jointly with the Dow Automotive team to create this web site was
an exciting project," said Tom Bentley, client partner at Organic, Inc.
"Focusing on the end user, the challenge to develop a content-rich, easily
accessible site that assisted users in fact gathering and decision making was
met head-on. As a medium, the Internet allowed us to meet that challenge by
building a site with extensive content and logical navigation. Based on
feedback from interviews and usability testing involving Dow Automotive
customers and internal personnel, we designed the site to accommodate future
growth."
