The Dealer Services Group

of Automatic Data Processing, Inc. has announced that

they have been selected by Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) of

Irvine, California, to assist in implementing the MNAO "Dealer Systems

Strategy - 2003" initiative.

"We believe that DSS - 2003 will position our dealers to meet new

technology challenges in automotive retailing while potentially

reducing costs. A partner like ADP can help Mazda dealers achieve

these goals" said Jim DiMarzio, chief information officer and director

of information technology for Mazda North American Operations. "Mazda

recognizes ADP as an experienced provider of networking solutions to

the automotive retail market and welcomes their assistance in this

program."

Formally launched last month, this program developed by

MNAO in cooperation with U.S. Mazda dealers will drive business as

well as support growing consumer e-business needs. The implementation

of the dealer systems infrastructure is designed to save dealers money

and progress toward a technology-rich environment. This new technology

initiative provides Mazda dealers with control over their own

computing environments, enabling them to leverage the Internet and

e-business opportunities, and standardize computing environments to

meet automotive industry standards.

"Mazda's Dealer Systems Strategy - 2003 will greatly enhance

dealer to factory communications and allow dealers to improve

utilization of their current systems and equipment at lower costs,"

said Ron Possehl, ADP director of manufacturing consulting and

solutions. "In addition to network design, ADP will provide

comprehensive site surveys, implementation, and networking support.

This program will include Get Wired, the industry's most powerful

internet security solution with Cisco's PIX firewall."

"We are happy to be part of this major strategic initiative at

Mazda," commented Mike Sailor, ADP Vice President of Manufacturing

Consulting and Solutions. "The approach Mazda is taking should

significantly contribute to reducing dealer communication costs. Our

goal is to help Mazda dealers leverage proven technology to maximize

their profits and enhance overall dealership operations."
