Universal Computer Systems has announced its Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) capability. ODBC is a software tool that enables users to extract data from their UCS Application Server and pull it directly into any ODBC-enabled program, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Seagate Crystal Reports.

According to the company, through customized queries, data is pulled from a UCS database to accomplish a wide range of tasks, including generating custom reports, spreadsheets, financial analyses, and graphs. With a refresh option, saved data queries can be updated quickly, eliminating the need to re-run these queries.

ODBC can extract data from the Accounting, Sales Prospecting, Vehicle Inventory, Name and Address, Customer and Service History, and Parts applications.
