Manheim’s Lauderdale-Miami Auto Auction says it will celebrate Ford Motor Co.’s 100th anniversary and their 2002 Ford Quality Award by giving away a Harley Sportster on Aug. 21.

All Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dealers are eligible for the drawing. For every Ford Factory, FMCC, Mazda or Primus unit purchased during Lauderdale-Miami’s Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday sales until Aug. 21, a dealer will get his or her name entered in the drawing that will be held after the Ford factory sale on Aug. 21.

“All the dealers are very excited about the Harley,” said Desarae Taylor, marketing manager at Lauderdale-Miami. “It’s sitting in our showroom lobby, so the contest is getting a lot of positive attention.”

Earlier this spring, the auction says it gave away six model 2001 Ford Thunderbirds and one actual 1965 classic Thunderbird. That contest was held from April 3 to May 1, and was open to any Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dealer who purchased at least one unit from any of the three factory sales held during April and May.

The cars were presented to the winners after Joe Welch and Mark Edwards from Ford presented Lauderdale-Miami Auto Auction with the prestigious 2002 Ford Quality Award. A dinner was held before the sale with around 70 dealers in attendance.
