The Reynolds and Reynolds Company announced Jan. 22 that it is upgrading the technology platform for its automotive procurement Web sites, ReySource® Dealer MarketPlace and the GM Dealer Supply Advantage (DSA) program, which Reynolds operates on behalf of General Motors.

ReySource Dealer MarketPlace and GM DSA are procurement Web sites that offer 24/7, one-stop supplies shopping for dealerships. Removing the hassle associated with shopping multiple vendors, the sites offer Reynolds’ forms, plus brand-name office, maintenance, repair, operating and general supplies at Reynolds-negotiated prices and GM pricing for DSA.

Integrated with Reynolds' direct sales channel, the sites provide a convenient way for retailers to simplify their billing and supply management issues, according to the company.

Reynolds said its move to upgrade to a new platform, which will be powered by Heiler Software Corp., is a result of extensive customer research. Automotive retailers using the Internet procurement sites reported that they wanted greater ease of use, faster navigation, and more powerful customization functionality.

“Upgrading ReySource Dealer MarketPlace and GM DSA from its current platform will enable Reynolds to deliver powerful enhancements and advanced functionality to our customers,” said Scott Hudson, director of Reynolds Integrated Document Solutions. “With a more powerful procurement management engine, they will be able to find and view products much faster, have tighter control over their purchasing process, as well as better track the details of their spending.”

During the technology upgrade, customers will continue to have access to ReySource Dealer MarketPlace and GM DSA for all their shopping needs. Customers will receive new logins and be offered CD training demonstrations and training sessions on the enhanced sites. They will also benefit from an improved user experience and a more efficient procurement process that is anticipated to include the following enhancements:

  • A powerful, new smart search tool with “fuzzy” or “close” search capabilities (i.e., the ability to interpret variations or misspellings such as fodder instead of folder, HP instead of Hewlett-Packard) to make finding products easier and quicker

  • Faster, more direct access to the ReySource and GM DSA shopping application to save dealership office managers valuable time

  • Improved navigation to make it easier and faster to view product images

  • New, customizable cost center functionality to help automotive retailers designate expenses to specific areas of their business

  • Powerful enhanced reporting to enable customers to see exactly how much they’re spending, on what items, and who is placing orders

  • Improved order and billing processes to expedite and streamline checkout procedures

According to Hudson, Heiler was selected to power the technology platform because of its ease of use, scalability and proven track record.

“We are pleased to be working with Reynolds and Reynolds and look forward to providing them with the technology and expanded functionality that they want for their customers,” said Rolf Heiler, CEO of Heiler Software Corp.

The previous technology provider for ReySource Dealer MarketPlace and GM DSA was Covisint.
