ATLANTA, Ga. — The Consumer Bankers Association announced its 2004 Automobile Finance Conference will take place on March 14-16 at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, Ga.

Highlights will include an address by Ted Cunningham, retired executive vice president of global sales and marketing for DaimlerChrysler. Gene Kirby, executive vice president and head of retail banking for SunTrust Banks, is also scheduled to speak.

Other speakers include Alan Starling, past chairman of National Automobile Dealers Association and president of Holiday Chevrolet & Oldsmobile in St. Cloud, Fla.; Dr. Paul Taylor, chief economist for National Automobile Dealers Association in McLean, Va.; and Peter Brown, associate publisher of Automotive News in Detroit.

A dealer roundtable will feature views from major dealer groups. Norman Buchan, president of Chase Automotive Finance in Garden City, N.Y., will moderate.

Other general sessions will address trends in credit risk modeling and the changing face of indirect lending. Nick Stanutz, executive vice president of consumer credit administration for Huntington Bancshares, will moderate.

A variety of breakout sessions include legal and regulatory issues, e-contracting, the used car market, dealer risk management, outsourcing and sales management. CBA's Automobile Finance Study will be previewed by Ted Brown, practice manager for BenchMark Consulting International.

Frank Sesno, a 17-year CNN veteran, will provide a political analysis.
