MILAN, Italy--Chrysler Group expects to break even or make a small profit in 2004, said CEO Dieter Zetsche to an Italian newspaper, according to a Reuters report.

Il Sole 24 Ore also quoted Zetsche as saying Chrysler was seeking 1 percent of the European auto market in the next three years. The group currently has 0.7 percent of the European market.

Last year, the Chrysler Group had an operating loss of 506 million euros, of which 469 million euros went to restructuring costs.
