October 19, 2004

Household Automotive Finance Corp. was recently rebranded HSBC Auto Finance. HSBC acquired Household International in March 2003, and the rebranding is the final step in the companies' integration.

HSBC Auto Finance will be based in Household's current San Diego headquarters, according to Auto Finance News. The integration should be complete by January 2005, said company spokesperson Kathleen Morrison.

Household started offering prime and nonprime auto loans in January, according to Morrison.
