Responding to the natural disaster in Southeast Asia, Capital One will donate up to $500,000 for the relief effort. The money will be given to the International Red Cross/Red Crescent and the United Kingdom’s Disaster Emergency Committee to support relief in the 12 countries affected by the earthquake and tsunami.

In addition to a $100,000 corporate pledge, the company will match associate contributions on a two-for-one basis, up to an additional $400,000.

To supplement the monetary donations, a team of associates is identifying volunteer opportunities for employees wishing to provide further help.
