AUSTIN, Texas -- IAS, an industry provider of F&I software programs, announced its SmartEye digital recording software comes with an auditing service option called SmartEye F&I Witness.

"Most F&I directors, general managers and dealers would like to be able to evaluate their F&I staff but end up not having the time or resources to implement an auditing practice," said Bobby Archambault, director of F&I training at IAS.

The SmartEye F&I Witness service performs video analyses of random client dealership transactions to help ensure proper disclosure and compliance steps are taken by dealership staff. An individual analysis involves IAS' auditing team reviewing up to 15 transactions and comparing them to a set of dealer-customized questions, such as:

  • Did the finance manager present a menu to the customer?

  • Did the finance manager confirm the customer's name, address and social security number?

  • Did the finance manager perform a full disclosure of the audio/video recording?

  • Did the finance manager confirm the customer's income?

  • Did the finance manger review the CSI survey with the customer?

The results of each analysis are sent to the dealer in a custom report via email. "Legality and compliance matters continue to be a pressing issue and it is critical that dealerships take control of minimizing their risks," said Bob Corbin, president of IAS.
