First American Corp. Acquires Bar None

SANTA ANA, Calif. -- The First American Corp., a credit report provider, has acquired Bar None Inc., which supplies credit-based leads to dealers.

Bar None, of Pleasanton, Calif., provides cost-effective, credit-based leads by identifying consumers with credit challenges who need assistance with obtaining auto financing. In 2004, the company helped more than 800,000 potential car buyers.

Bar None will now be a subsidiary of First American’s credit information group. Jim Crouse, who established the company in 1995, will remain its president.

First American, based in Santa Ana, Calif., supplies businesses and consumers with data to support the major economic events of people’s lives, such as purchasing a vehicle, starting a business and getting a job.
