HOUSTON -- An employee at Robbins Autoplex has been arrested and charged with arson and insurance fraud after allegedly burning cars for customers, reported KHOU Channel 11.

Investigators said long-time employee Tobias Green, once the star employee of the dealership, burned cars for customers who agreed to use their insurance money to buy a new vehicle from him. He allegedly called his scheme the "rotisserie special" and would approach customers who owed more on their trade-ins than they were worth, but had good insurance.

The dealership’s management has cooperated with investigators. "We would never condone anybody doing anything — ID theft, any schemes for insurance companies," Bill Robbins, president of Robbins Autoplex told KHOU.
