NEW YORK -- Job seekers will converge on the all-new Center for Automotive Education & Training in Queens, N.Y., on Thursday, Oct. 27 to learn about rapidly expanding career opportunities in auto dealerships. The event, organized by the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association (GNYADA) is part of the nationwide Automotive Career Education Week, Oct. 24-29.

Job seekers will see first-hand how the dealership business operates in all areas, including sales, service and finance. During the day, they will have an opportunity to interact directly with industry experts, learn about jobs at dealerships, leave copies of resumes, and collect information about the industry.

"Many people are surprised to learn that dealerships offer such a wide variety of outstanding career opportunities," said Mark Schienberg, GNYADA president. "We're thrilled to have a chance to share our experiences with people of all ages, and we hope that many will end up strongly considering careers in our industry."

The Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association, founded in 1910 and based in Whitestone, Queens, represents about 650 franchised new-car and -truck dealers in the metro area of New York, selling more than 700,000 cars each year.
