AFIP Certification Becoming Mandatory for Many Dealers

August 22, 2006

In an interview with F&I magazine, David Robertson, executive director, AFIP, states that AFIP has recently launched a certification campaign for the United Auto Group, the second largest publicly traded organization of its type in the United States. Ford officially approved the wording “Ford Recommends AFIP Certification,” to its dealers. In addition the 4,000-member DaimlerChrysler Business Managers Association has made AFIP Certification a qualifying program for its annual recurrent training requisite and is considering making it mandatory. GM’s Saturn division has already mandated all dealers to obtain certification.

Robertson is conducting a study review for AFIP Certification on Nov. 8, at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Hotel in Las Vegas, in conjunction with the F&I Conference. It will consist of a review session in the morning and tests in the afternoon. Visit www.fi-conference.com for discount details.
