Santa Monica, Calif.—This month’s new vehicle sales are expected to be 1.23 million units, a 7.5 percent increase from October of last year, according to Edmunds.com.

This October had 25 selling days, one less than October 2005. It was noted that sales increased 11.8 percent from October 2005.

The combined monthly U.S. market share for Chrysler, Ford and GM is estimated to be 53.5 percent in October, down slightly from 53.7 percent in October 2005 and down from 54.6 percent from September 2006.

Edmunds.com predicts Chrysler will sell 154,000 units in October, down nearly 13 percent compared to Sept. 2006. Edmunds.com also predicts Ford to sell 203,000 units in October, down nearly 13 percent from Sept., GM to sell 300,000 units in Oct., down more than 10 percent compared to Sept. 2006. It is predicted Honda will sell 114,000 units in Oct., down more than two percent from Sept. 2006, Nissan will sell 78,000 units in Oct. down nearly eight percent from Sept. and that Toyota will sell 205,000 units in Oct., down nearly eight percent from Sept. 2006.
