WASHINGTON, D.C.- The National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) has won the Award of Excellence for its Child Passenger Safety Month from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

The award recognizes associations that "propel America forward" through innovative community service programs, including NADA's "Boost for Safety" campaign, a partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to encourage proper child seat use.

"This honor is a tribute to auto dealers across America who are going the extra mile to protect the youngest passengers by hosting child seat inspections," said NADA Chairman William Bradshaw.

Out of 100 entries, NADA was one of 15 associations receiving an award, placing it in the running to receive ASAE's top national recognition for association programs in 2007.

Thousands of dealers nationwide participated in NADA's Child Passenger Safety Month this past September, inspecting hundreds of thousands of seats. The association provided all of its dealer members in advance with a "tool kit" guide, "Building Child Passenger Safety Awareness in Your Community," providing step-by-step guidance for hosting seat inspection events. NADA also supplied dealers with print and video handouts for consumers.
