Las Vegas, NV — Mobile Productivity, Inc., (MPi) a provider of profitability tools for auto dealer service departments, announced recently that expert auto industry veteran Joe Herman has joined the MPi Industry Advisory Council. The group of top dealers, veteran factory executives and automotive industry experts was formed in March ’07 to provide auto industry input into the strategic product and marketing direction of MPi. Current members include David Vallone, Kip Killmon, Paul Rubin, Dennis Noonan, Bill Lovejoy, Richard Sherman, Joe Hilger, Maureen Sullivan Martin, Tony Noland and Ernest H. Pomerantz.

One of the Industry’s most well know leaders, Herman brings to the MPi Advisory Council a wealth of credentials derived from over four decades of hands-on experience. He began his automotive career as a sales person, was an OEM executive, dealer, and for the last fifteen years held senior leadership positions with retail consolidators EMCO/United Auto Group (sr. exec VP), Planet-Potamkin Automotive Group (CEO, president, COO), and Group 1 Automotive (sr.VP.Ops/RVP). Herman has chaired several regional and national dealer councils, marketing and advertising committees and a number of 20 Groups over his career, and has also been an NADA National Convention Workshop Moderator, and both a presenter and retail panel member at a number of JD Power conferences.

MPi has long relied on dealer requests and industry feedback to guide its product development. The company recently launched a new World Class Inspection Program that for the first time offers real live process measurement for vehicle service departments. World Class Inspection provides service departments with the tools and processes to measure, manage and coach desired results and includes implementation/training, hardware, a measurement system, software tools and field support.

Dealers using the program are performing a better inspection and doing a superior job of explaining needed repairs to the customer, realizing benefits that average $100 to $125 in additional needed repairs per vehicle inspection, a substantial increase in revenue per RO. The MPi industry Advisory council will help advise and guide the development of such programs in the future.
