Auto Loan Delinquencies Increase Slightly

September 28, 2007

A study conducted by the American Bankers Association found that credit card delinquencies remained steady, and in some cases, fell to some extent in the second quarter of 2007.

As a whole, late credit card payments in all areas, including auto, home equity, property improvement and personal loan accounts were down to 4.39 percent, compared to the 4.41 percent in the first quarter.

Auto loan delinquencies, however, increased slightly. Indirect loans increased 2.77 percent from 2.73 percent, while direct loans increased from 1.68 percent to 1.69 percent.
