Experian Group Ltd. announced that it would stop selling FICO scores after Feb. 13 to individual consumers through myFICO.com.

"This development has no impact on how lenders and other credit issuers evaluate" an individual's creditworthiness, Experian said.

The company will continue to offer its own scores, FICO scores and other credit risk scores to its commercial customers, such as lenders, to enable their credit-granting decisions.

Experian will continue to offer its own proprietary PLUS credit score, as well as the VantageScore ratings systems, which it developed with the other two credit bureaus, TransUnion and Equifax Inc.

Consumers are also entitled to one free annual credit report from each of the national reporting companies, as well as an option to purchase a credit score along with the report through AnnualCreditReport.com
