Mass. City Bans Future Dealership Developments

LOWELL, Mass. — In a town meeting in Lowell, Mass., Monday night, the city OK’d zoning changes that ban car dealerships from being developed in the town center in the future, the Lowell Sun reports. According to the news outlet, “auto-sales businesses do not help promote the New England village feel that the residents hope to preserve.”

A Planning Board chairman who proposed the changes, Mark Montanari, argued that the town center “is crucial to preserving the small-town character.”

    Seriously? Lowell is a cesspit already. New dealerships would not detract from the city that HBO chose to film "High on Crack" in. And yes, I lived in Lowell.
