SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Investigators with the California Department of Motor Vehicles issued 93 citations to unlicensed auto dealers on April 12. These dealers disguised themselves as private sellers with the intent of selling unsafe used vehicles to disadvantaged buyers, according to a report in the Sierra Sun Times.

Investigators also issued 68 warnings and impounded 109 vehicles during the operation. Four individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants.
