ORLANDO, Fla. — Organizers of the upcoming Industry Summit announced that Robert Steenbergh, a licensed attorney and the founder and CEO of US Equity Advantage, will helm a session dedicated to helping dealers and F&I professionals select legally organized and licensed product and service providers at the event, which will be held Oct. 8–10 at the Caribe Royale Orlando in Orlando, Fla.

Steenbergh’s session, “How to Vet and Work With Compliant Providers,” will begin at 2:05 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8, as part of the Compliance Summit portion of the event.

“Dealership operations are becoming increasingly more complex due to higher levels of government regulation at both the state and federal levels,” Steenbergh explained. “Choosing the wrong provider can result in operational problems and a damaged reputation, or worse, legal jeopardy and financial losses.”

The session will include a breakdown of the dealership/provider relationship — including the enhanced scrutiny and risk dealers face when partnering with companies that fail to uphold “proper business practices and ethics” — and offer a 10-point checklist owners and managers can use to practice due diligence when evaluating providers.

“This is a new topic for Compliance Summit and one that has generated a significant amount of buzz among organizers and returning attendees,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of F&I and Showroom and Auto Dealer Today. “We appreciate Robert for bringing this critical concern to the fore and sharing his insights and advice with our audience.”

Registration for Industry Summit 2018 is open at the event’s website.
