WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. — Retail automotive veteran John Barbero has joined 5square as senior account executive for the Southeast United States. Barbero brings to 5square over 20 years of experience in the retail automotive field and an in-depth knowledge of auto dealer operations, having served for 12 years as general manger in three separate dealerships, where he consistently increased sales and CSI. He will report directly to Jonathan Feduniec, VP of sales and marketing.

“I am excited to see history repeat itself. John and I worked together at ReckonUp, where we helped build the company from approximately 30 dealers to several hundred in less than two years. John’s tremendous energy and understanding of the operations of auto dealers make him a perfect fit for this position,” stated Feduniec.

Prior to 5square, Barbero worked as vice president of sales/marketing at ReckonUp, where he more than doubled sales during his five-year tenure. Previous to that he worked as general manager at Lindell Honda/Volkswagen in Tampa, Fla., where he raised revenue by 65 percent and increased and maintained CSI rating to 98.2 percent. Before that he worked as president of sales/marketing at High Profit Promotions, a national direct marketing company that specializes in hosted sales events. Barbero organized on-site and off-site super sales, four- and five-day events, with recent sales as high as $500,000.

From 1988-1995 Barbero once again served as general manager at two separate auto dealerships, where among his accomplishments he increased sales by 160 percent. Barbero holds joint degrees from Tennessee State University: a Bachelor of Arts in English (major) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (minor).
