DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. — JMsolutions, ATC-Onlane and Carfax have joined forces to develop workshops that help dealers make more money on their used-car inventory. The workshops focus on a variety of topics within the business, including industry trends, maximizing profits, and sales management.

“When I take a day out of the office, it is hard to justify focusing on one module of the business,” said Steven Miller, used-car director for Larry H. Miller Group. “This way I can get all the information I want in one place. It is a perfect format.”

Attending dealers learn various ways to maximize sales opportunities, minimize expenses, and assist salespeople in their professional growth. Interactive discussions also touch on the importance of a dealership’s used-car department, stocking the right vehicles to meet customer demands and building consumer confidence.

“We recognize that with a challenging new-vehicle market, our customers have to become experts in used vehicles to maintain profitability,” said Doug Hadden, JMsolutions training and development manager. “Providing these seminars is an excellent way to help them turbo-charge their used-vehicle business.”

The free workshops, called “Maximizing Your Used Car Profitability,” debuted on Dec. 12, 2007, in Irvine, Calif. Three speakers with over 50 years of combined industry experience — Doug Hadden from JMsolutions, Ed Curry from ATC-Onlane and Jay Luna from Carfax — each provided attendees with unique perspectives and strategies for dealers to more effectively manage and market their used inventory and ultimately capture additional revenue.

“In this day and age the key to profitability is knowledge,” added Leonard Pace, general sales manager at Inland Chevrolet in Hemet, Calif.

The next workshop will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, in Atlanta, Ga. (8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Suites Galleria). To attend or for more information, contact Michelle Villamar at (800) 364-3015 or via e-mail at [email protected].
