Washington - Urban Trust Bank (UTB) has announced the opening of four new branches in Wal-Mart stores in the Orlando and Jacksonville, Fla. areas. UTB now operates eleven such locations, offering extended hours and a full range of services, according to the lender.

"These new branches signal the continued execution of our focused growth strategy," stated Daniel Fischer, CEO of Urban Trust Bank, "they reflect our commitment to the central Florida and Jacksonville regions and further expands our relationship with Wal-Mart, whose customers and employees can benefit from our services."

UTB was founded by Robert L. Johnson, owner of the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats and founder of the RLJ Companies and Black Entertainment Television (BET), with the stated mission of offering banking services and education to an economically and racially diverse clientele.
