Brookfield, Wis. CheckFree, now part of Fiserv Inc., a leading provider of information technology services to the financial industry, and Chicago-based Integrys Energy Group have announced they will donate one dollar to the Arbor Day Foundation to plant a tree on behalf of each customer who signs up for a electronic billing during April, May and June 2008.

“e-Bills are not only a more convenient way for consumers to receive and pay their utility bills, they are also an earth-friendly alternative to paper bills,” said Okho Bohm Hagedorn, program leader at Integrys. “By joining together with our customers, we can make a lasting contribution to a cleaner and healthier environment.”

The companies have set a goal of funding the planting of at least 10,000 trees as part of the “Enroll in e-Bill and Plant the Seed” campaign. The campaign will educate nearly one million customers of Wisconsin Public Service, North Shore Gas, Upper Peninsula Power Company and Peoples Gas – all part of Integrys Energy Group – about the environmental benefits of receiving and paying their utility bills online.
