WASHINGTON — Veteran journalist Chris Wallace will give the keynote address at the American Financial Services Association (AFSA)’s 14th Vehicle Finance Conference and Exposition, scheduled for Feb. 10-12, 2010, at Walt Disney’s Yacht Club Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

The host of “FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace”, Wallace also is a contributor to the network’s political and election news coverage. During his career, Wallace has won every major award for broadcast journalism, including a Dupont-Columbia Award, three Emmys, the George Foster Peabody award, and the George Polk Award.

Before joining Fox News in 2003, Wallace worked at ABC News for 15 years, where he served as the chief correspondent for “Primetime Thursday” and as a substitute host for “Nightline”. Prior to that, Wallace served as the chief White House correspondent for NBC News from 1982-1989. While at NBC News, he covered the 1980, 1984, and 1988 presidential campaigns and Democratic and Republican conventions. Wallace also anchored “Meet the Press” from 1987-1988 and the Sunday edition of “NBC Nightly News” from 1982-1984 and 1986-1987.

“Chris Wallace enhances the value of this pivotal conference as we evaluate national economic and political trends and their ramifications for the industry’s recovery,” said Stephen Smith, chairman of AFSA’s Vehicle Finance Division Advisory Board and senior vice president of financial services for American Honda Finance Corp.

Co-sponsored by the AFSA Education Foundation, the conference also will feature panels with CEOs and dealers sharing their points of view. Additional sessions will focus on the economy and credit markets, financial reform, financial literacy, improving operations, risk management, marketing to socially-connected consumers, and planning for the future.

The AFSA 2010 Vehicle Finance Conference and Exposition will be held prior to the National Automobile Dealers Association’s Annual Convention & Expo, scheduled Feb. 13-15 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
