SAN DIEGO — MobileTrac LLC, the provider of instaVIN vehicle history service, is now an authorized provider and reseller of vehicle title and brand data through the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System.
NMVTIS is administered by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA), and overseen by the U.S. Department of Justice. NMVTIS is the only vehicle history database that all states, insurance carriers and junk salvage yards are required to report their data into, by federal law.
With new access to the U.S Department of Justice NMVTIS data, MobileTrac works with underwriters, warranty and insurance companies, financers, dealers, and auction houses to provide the most comprehensive junk/salvage/total loss, odometer, title and brand data available in the industry. Unlike other major vehicle history services, MobileTrac data is also available for recreational vehicles, motorcycles and classic cars.
Available for any automotive industry affiliate or company, MobileTrac data is fully scalable and can be customized to an organization’s specific needs. NMVTIS automotive data will also be incorporated into the company’s instaVIN vehicle history report service offered to consumers and dealers at www.instaVIN.com.
“Competitive vehicle history services, such as CARFAX and AutoCheck, rely on state DMV-compiled vehicle history database systems. These systems can contain data latency from infrequent updates,” said Jim Irish, CEO of MobileTrac. “Using our real-time, on-demand information through NMVTIS, along with our own proprietary sources, the automotive industry can vastly improve their customer service offerings. This includes vehicle valuation capabilities and maximized return on used-vehicle sales, transfers and insurance settlements.”
MobileTrac’s flagship product, instaVIN, includes online vehicle history reports at $6.99 and accident history reports starting at $1.99. instaVIN also offers patent pending accident history reports on any mobile phone via SMS text messaging.
