WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. — November new-vehicle sales increased 4.6% to 1,302,043 units. On a year-to-date basis, sales increased 5.4% to more than 15 million units sold through during the first 11 months of the year. November's SAAR was 17.20 million units, up significantly from the 16.29 million-unit read in November 2013 and October's 16.46 SAAR, according to figures from Autodata Corp. The following is a breakdown of sales performance by manufacturer:

BMW: In November, sales of BMWs dipped about 2.3% from a year ago, with dealers delivering 31,019 BMW-branded vehicles in November. Year-to-date sales of BMWs in 2014 were still 9.7% ahead of 2013 deliveries, with 298,212 units sold through the end of November.

For November, MINI reported 5,009 automobiles sold, an increase of 9.5% from the 4,575 sold in the same month a year ago. Year-to-date sales totaled of 49,497 units through November, a decrease of 17.4% from the 59,910 automobiles sold in the first eleven months of 2013.

Chrysler: Chrysler Group reported U.S. sales of 170,839 units, a 20% increase compared to a year ago. The total also marked the group's best November sales since 2001.

The Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram Truck and FIAT brands each posted year-over-year sales gains in November compared with the same month a year ago. The Ram Truck brand's 31% increase was the largest sales gain of any Chrysler Group brand, which celebrated its best November sales since 2003. The group also extended its streak of year-over-year sales gains to 56 consecutive months.

Eleven Chrysler Group vehicles set records in the month of November. The Dodge Dart, Ram ProMaster and Ram Cargo Van each recorded their best ever monthly sales. In addition, the all-new Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Patriot, Chrysler 200, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Journey, Fiat 500L, and Ram pickup truck logged their best ever November sales. Sales of the Chrysler 200 mid-size sedan were up 155% in November, the model's best monthly sales total this year. The Ram Truck and Chrysler brands recorded the largest percentage sales gains of Chrysler Group brands in November.

Ford: The OEM reported sales of 187,000 vehicles in November, down 2% from a year ago. The overall sales decline was anticipated, as Ford manages worked to decrease inventory levels to prepare for the market launch of the all-new Ford Mustang, F-150 and Transit models.

Escape sales increased 22% from a year ago to 25,528 units, the model's best-ever November performance. Explorer sales increased 13% from a year ago to 14,949 units sold, the best November performance for the Explorer since 2004. Mustang sales surpassed the 8,000-unit mark in November, with 8,728 cars sold.

Lincoln sales totaled 8,113 vehicles, a 21% gain and the brand’s best November in seven years. Lincoln MKC sales achieved its second month of sales above the 2,000-unit mark, with 2,152 vehicles sold. Sales of the new Navigator increased 88% from a year ago to 1,433 units sold, marking the model's best November sales since 2007.

General Motors: General Motors dealers in the U.S. delivered 225,818 vehicles in November, the OEM's best November sales performance in seven years. Total sales were up 6% compared to a year ago, while retail sales were up 5% and fleet deliveries were up 11%.

Sales of the Cruze were up 26%, while sales of the Spark and Sonic were up 64% and 3%, respectively. GMC sales were up 23%, whiles sales of the  Sierra and Yukon increased 57% and 14%, respectively. Sales of the Terrain were also up 13%, while 854 all-new Canyons were delivered in November. Buick sales were up 27%, with Encore, Lacrosse and Verano leading the way with 72%, 71% and 22% sales gain vs. a year ago.

Honda: American Honda Motor Co. reported a new sales record for Honda and Acura vehicle, with sales increasing 4.6% from a year ago to 121,814 units sold.

Honda truck sales also set a November record, increasing 12.9% from a year ago to 60,384 units sold. The Honda brand set a new November best, recording sales of 106,957 vehicles — an increase of 4.9%. The Acura brand posted sales of 14,857 units in November, increasing 2% over the same period last year.

The CR-V bested its previous November, with 32,378 units sold last month for an increase of 37.7% versus a year ago. The Pilot also showed strength in what has been a robust truck market, with sales increasing 13.2% from a year ago to 9,228 units sold.

Acura sedan lineup also show strong gains in November, with sales increasing 29.5% from a year ago to 6,208 units sold. The TLX was Acura's second best-selling model, with more than 4,200 units sold. The brand's ILX also posted a 4.4% sales gain, with sales totaling 1,652 units.

Hyundai: Hyundai Motor announced November sales of 53,672, a 4% decline from a year ago. Sales of the Sonata were up 12% from a year ago, while Genesis sales were up 57%.

Mazda: The automaker reported November U.S. sales of 21,242 vehicles, a 2.4% increase from a year ago. Year-to-date sales through November were up 7.7% versus last year, with 280,993 vehicles sold.

The Mazda6 recorded its best November in three years with 3,891 vehicles sold, an increase of 6.9% from a year ago. Additionally, the Mazda CX-5 realized its best November ever with 7,220 vehicles sold, an increase of 14.2% from a year ago.

Mercedes-Benz: Mercedes-Benz reported its highest monthly sales in its history with sales totaling 34,578, up from 34,376 units sold one year ago. Sprinter volumes increased 26% from a year ago to 2,532 units sold. Combine those totals with the 815 smart cars sold brings total November sales for the OEM to a record 37,925. On a year-to-date basis, Mercedes-Benz retail sales increased 6% from a year ago to 296,382 units.

November sales were led by the C-, E- and M-Class model lines. The C-Class lead the way with 9,259 units sold, a 17.5% increase from a year ago, while sales of the M-Class increased 19.9% from a year ago to 5,190 units sold. Sales of the E-Class totaled 4,737. At the high end, the flagship S-Class topped last year’s November sales by 50.1%, with 2,863 units sold.

Mitsubishi: Mitsubishi Motors North America reported sales totaling 6,534 units, a 27.4% year-to-date sales increase. The OEM also reported its best November sales total, with sales increasing 7.6% from a year ago.

The fuel-efficient Mirage realized sales of 1,333 units, a 30.1% increase from a year ago. It was the ninth straight month Mirage sales topped 1,300 units. Following close behind was the Lancer compact sports sedan, with sales totaling 1,292 units — the model's best November sales month in the last seven years. Both the Lancer Evolution and the recently redesigned Outlander posted a sales increase of 8.9% year to date.

Nissan: Nissan Group announced total U.S. sales for November of 103,188 units. With one month remaining in 2014, Nissan has now set a record for most U.S. sales in a year in the company's history with 1,269,577 units sold — an 11.5% increase for the year.

Rogue sales set a November record with 15,067 units sold, an increase of 43.7% from a year ago. The Nissan LEAF also set a November record with 2,687 units sold, an increase of 34.1%. Sentra sales increased 16% from a year ago to 13,530 units sold.

Infiniti reported sales of 11,398 units. Sales of the updated 2015 Q70 luxury performance sedan were up 53.6% for the month, while Q60 sales were was up 56.8% from a year ago. In addition, sales of the refreshed QX80 full-size luxury SUV increased 6.1% from a year ago to 1,319 deliveries.

Toyota: Toyota, Scion and Lexus reported total November sales of 183,346 units, an increase of 3% over November 2013 on an unadjusted volume basis. When adjusted for 25 selling days in November 2014 versus 26 selling days in November 2013, sales increased 7.1% from a year ago.

By model, the Toyota 4Runner was up more than 53% for the month, while the Highlander posted record November sales of 13,476 units (up 16.7%). Tacoma sales up were 3.3%. Sales of the Corolla increased 14.2% to more than 25,000 units sold, while sales of the Camry totaled nearly 29,000 units.

As for Lexus, the ES was the volume leader with sales of 5,884 units, while sales of the Lexus IS increased 16%. The all-new RC posted sales of 880 units, while Lexus GS sales were up 15.5%.

Volkswagen: The German automaker delivered 31,725 units in November. Sales of the Jetta, refreshed for 2015, totaled 14,268 units, a 31.8% increase from a year ago. Sales of the all-new Golf family totaled 2,149 Golf units, 1,725 Golf GTIs and 119 e-Golf units.

Audi: Audi reported a 22% sales increase from a year ago, with sales totaling 16,640 units vehicles. The performance marked the 47th consecutive month of record U.S. sales for the brand. On a year-to-date basis, sales increased 15.4% from a year ago to 162,773 units sold — a new annual sales record with one month to go in 2014.

November results were bolstered by sales of Audi luxury SUVs, with the Audi Q7 posting a 14.6% gain on 1,746 units sold for the month. Additionally, the Q5 posted a 16.8% gain on 4,184 units sold for the month. Year-to-date sales for the Audi Q7 increased 21.1%, while year-to-date sales for the Audi Q5 increased 6.5%. Sales of the all-new Audi Q3 were strong with 2,753 vehicles sold year to date.

Porsche: Porsche announced November 2014 sales of 4,699 vehicles. For the year, Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) has delivered 43,732 vehicles in the U.S. market, an increase of 11.9% from a year ago. Sales of the 2015 Cayenne totaled 1,619 units, while 925 911 sports cars were delivered in November. The Macan had another strong month, with November sales of 987 units. Boxster and Cayman sales yielded 656 combined deliveries.
