Former TrueCar CEO Scott Painter is back. On Wednesday, TechCrunch reported that his newest venture has added online retailer Beepi, which is shutting down its operations outside of California and laying off 180 staffers.
Conducted by Harris Poll on behalf of online retailer Beepi, the study revealed an apparent distrust and negative opinion of car dealerships among consumers polled. In the survey’s findings, 61% of respondents felt like they were taken advantage of at some point in the dealership.
Beepi, an online used-vehicle retailer founded in 2013 by a serial entrepreneur who had a bad car-buying experience, is now offering nationwide vehicle delivery. The cost of the service, according to the company, is determined by the distance between the seller and buyer.
