Morton Named New Warranty Group V.P.

CHICAGO — Service-plan provider The Warranty Group Inc. has appointed Robert H. "Bob" Morton to the position of vice president of training and development for Resource Automotive.

"Bob brings a broad range of training and development skills to our organization," said Mark H. Mishler, The Warranty Group's president/COO. "His financial services background combined with his automotive expertise will bring added value to our clients and to our organization."

Morton has 23 years of training experience at General Motors Acceptance Corporation, where his responsibilities also included sourcing, purchasing, IT, vendor management and affinity marketing. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in history from Holy Cross College and was named the GMAC Mortgage "Best of the Best" award winner from 2000 to 2006.

Michigan City Ends Used-Car Moratorium

City officials in Warren, Mich., Metro Detroit's largest suburb, have lifted a moratorium on used-car lots and approved regulations for any new ones that may open.
