13 Attorneys General Vow to Fight Emissions Easing By Trump

New York AG Settles Two Payment Packing Suits for $1.6 Million

Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman’s crackdown on payment packing continues. Last week, the New York regulator announced settlements with SG Hyland Motors Corp. of Staten Island and Best Auto Outlet of Floral Park, which will collectively pay $1.6 million in restitution to more than 2,300 victims of their alleged deceptive sales tactics.

Missouri Dealer Fined $38,067 for Failing to Provide Vehicle Titles

A Missouri dealer has agreed to pay $38,067 in restitution to 23 former customers to settle the state attorney general's charges that he and his dealership did not provide vehicle titles and did not honor repair agreements. The dealer is also prohibited from operating a dealership for five years.

Former Nissan Dealer to Pay $101,986 for Deceptive Practices

About 119 former customers of Saratoga Springs Nissan who were charged illegal fees and sold F&I products without their knowledge will share in $101,986 in restitution, according to the settlement reached between the dealership's former owner and the New York Attorney General's Office.

New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman’s initiative to end dealer “jamming,” or payment packing, has resulted in four separate settlements with four dealer groups.
