Manheim Auctions has announced management changes at several of its auctions.

Chester Carroll has been named general manager of Dothan Auto Auction in Dothan, Ala., reporting to David Young, vice president of operations, region one. Carroll was previously general manager of Imperial Auto Auction in Lakeland, Fla. Carroll joined Manheim's training program in 1991. He was named general manager of Daytona Auto Dealers Exchange in Daytona Beach, Fla., in 1992 and four years later became general manager of Greater Orlando Auto Auction in Orlando, Fla. Prior to joining Manheim, Carroll ran his own auction in Delaware for 25 years.

Greg Lawson has been promoted to general manager of Greater Las Vegas Auto Auction. He will report to David Berkstresser, vice president of operations, region seven. Lawson previously served as auction manager, a position he held since July 1999. He joined Manheim's Big H Auto Auction in 1987 as a part-time driver. Lawson held various operational positions at Big H Auto Auction. From 1991 to 1997 he was sales/operation manager, and from 1997 to 1999 he served as assistant general manager before being named auction manager of Greater Las Vegas Auto Auction.

Steve Mason, general manager of Lakeland Auto Auction in Lakeland, Fla., will transfer to Imperial Auto Auction. He will report to David Young, vice president of operations, region one. Mason joined Lakeland Auto Auction in 1991 as a management trainee. He was promoted to dealer sales manager in 1992. A year later, he was named assistant auction manager at Daytona Auto Dealers Exchange in Daytona Beach, Fla. In 1995, Mason transferred to Imperial Auto Auction as assistant general manager. He was named auction manager in 1996. Prior to joining Manheim, Mason worked for six years in the used-car business.

Ed Pullen, general manager of Southern California Auto Auction in Fontana, Calif., will transfer to Los Angeles Dealer's Auto Auction in Rosemead, Calif., where he will serve as general manager. Pullen was general manager of Southern California Auto Auction for 18 months. He will continue to report to Dan Thomas, vice president of operations, region eight.

John Schlegel has been promoted to general manager of Butler Auto Auction in Cranberry Township, Pa. He previously served as assistant general manager. He will report to Keith Williams, vice president of operations, region three. Schlegel joined Butler Auto Auction in 1994 as a controller trainee. In 1995, he was named controller, a position he held until being promoted to assistant general manager in 1998.

Scott Smith has been promoted to general manager of Arizona Auto Auction in Phoenix. He will report to David Berkstresser, vice president of operations, region seven. Smith previously served as auction manager, a position he held since September 1999. He joined Manheim in 1988 as a management trainee at Southwest Auto Auction in Chandler, Ariz., where he worked in various departments. In 1990, he became fleet lease manager at Arizona Auto Auction. In 1992, he returned to Southwest Auto Auction as fleet lease manager. In 1998, he was named auction manager of Arizona Auto Auction.

Lois Chessor has been promoted to auction manager of Lakeland Auto Auction in Lakeland, Fla. She will report to David Young, vice president of operations, region one. Chessor previously had been assistant general manager. Chessor joined the auction in 1982 on a part-time basis. She went full-time in 1985 as dealer registration clerk. A year later, Chessor was named dealer registration supervisor. In 1988, she took over as administration services manager, which included arbitration, and was promoted to assistant general manager in 1993.

Todd Mathis has been named auction manager of Fort Worth Auto Auction in Fort Worth, Texas, reporting to Rob Mowers, vice president of operations, region six. Mathis worked at Manheim's Florida Auto Auction of Orlando from 1990 to 1996 where he held several management positions. In 1996, he joined Manheim Automotive Financial Services, where he was sales and operations manager, region one. Mathis was named assistant general manager of Atlanta Auto Auction in 1997, a position he held until moving to Fort Worth in November 2000.

Ron Parker, auction manager of Florida Auto Auction of Orlando in Ocoee, Fla., is transferring to Greater Tampa Bay Auto Auction in Tampa Bay, Fla. He will report to John Saullo, general manager. Parker joined Manheim in 1985 as an accountant. He was promoted to business manager in 1988 and to assistant general manager in 1993. Parker was named auction manager in 1996.

Greg Price has joined Manheim's Central Florida Auto Auction in Orlando as assistant general manager. He will report to Bill Timberman, general manager. Prior to joining Manheim, Price was general manager of the ADESA Jacksonville Auto Auction in Jacksonville, Fla. Price also served as general manager of Toledo Auto Auction in Toledo, Ohio, from 1995 to 1997. Before joining Toledo Auto Auction, Price worked in his family's auto auction business for almost 12 years. Price is a member of the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles Auction Advisory Board.

Danny Ryan has been named assistant general manager of Lafayette Auto Auction in Lafayette, La. He continues to report to Gary Brewer, general manager. Ryan formerly served as operations manager.

Chuck Hudgins has been named director of special operations - Ford. He will report to Bill Tiedemann, vice president special operations - Ford. Hudgins previously served as general manager at Dothan Auto Auction in Dothan, Ala., from 1998 to 2000. Prior to moving to Dothan, he was assistant general manager at Detroit Auto Auction for three years. Hudgins joined ADT Automotive in 1991 and held several corporate positions before being named assistant general manager in Detroit. Hudgins spent nearly 30 years with Chrysler Corporation before joining the auto auction industry.
