The Warranty Group, a provider of extended warranties for new and used automobiles, ranks among the lowest for customer complaints for companies of its kind, according to information provided by the Florida Department of Insurance.

The Mobile-based company registered fewer complaints per thousand than a number of insurers.

The Warranty Group had a

"customer complaint index" of 1.03 or 1.03 complaints per thousand customers. According to the survey, only five companies had fewer customer complaints.

Larry Myers, president and CEO of the Warranty Group, said, "We are very pleased with our customer complaint index. We work very hard to provide a top-quality product and to make our customers happy. Our employees are empowered to 'go the extra mile' to ensure customer satisfaction."

Myers noted that the number of customer complaints per thousand has dropped every year, even as sales have risen. In 1998, with annual sales of slightly more than 37,000 warranties, the company registered 1.86 complaints per thousand. In 1999, with annual sales of more than 74,000 warranties, the

Warranty Group had 1.33 complaints per thousand. In 2000, with more than 281,000 warranties sold, the company had 1.03 complaints per thousand. The company currently has sales of approximately 300,000 warranties per year.
