Market Scan Systems, Inc., the automotive finance software specialist, set a one-day sales record Jan. 27 with more than $1 million in pre-NADA sales orders.

According to CEO Ron Means, the new sales record indicates growing acceptance for the company’s established suite of finance and desking software along with the all new mPod™ scanner and Sales Force Automation module. “Our integrated Desking, CRM, Showroom Control and new Service modules are finding broad acceptance with established customers and those dealers just merging onto the electronic transaction highway,” Means said. “We’ve updated our new and used car desking module – making it faster and easier to use. And, the compatibility of the industry’s largest lender database with the major DMS systems makes Market Scan the preferred source for dealers concerned about profit protection…on every deal.”

The annual NADA convention, Jan. 31–Feb. 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada, hosted an impressive Market Scan display -- a virtual high-tech showroom where the main attraction will be the newest Market Scan sales floor asset.

“Market Scan’s all-new mPod scanner and new mPod stand with touch screen will enable faster and more precise distribution of information to multiple networked locations within the dealership,” Means said. “From a welcoming venue, to salesman’s desk, to sales management office -- our mPod technology is an easy-to-use gateway to electronic deal processing and customer information management. Those dealers having participated in the mPod beta tests loved the performance of the new system and the looks of this high-speed portal.”

It’s no surprise the mPod scanner’s silhouette resembles a modern racecar, given the company’s successful sports car and motorsports programs that include an entry in the upcoming 24 Hours of Daytona. The mPod allows both sales personnel and customer tracking that begins with the inserting of a secure data card and scanning of a driver’s license.

All collected data is then stored within the secure dealership system, Means told F&I Management and Technology at the NADA convention. “In addition to our abilities to help the dealer quickly measure a customer’s credit and then construct a lease and purchase scenario that fits the buyer’s needs while protecting dealer profits, Market Scan now assures the dealer that sensitive customer data is properly secured,” Means said. “We eliminate the risk of heavy fines and bad publicity associated with the misuse of customer data…now a serious concern for both OEM and dealer.”

In addition to the mPod launch and the many enhancements of well-established Market Scan products, the company has also received positive customer reviews for its CRM module -- Sale Force Automation (SFA) and the new companion system, Service Analysis and Marketing Module (SAMM). These subsets to an already robust software and database protocol expand Market Scan’s abilities to meet both dealership expectations and comfortably accommodate OEM, lender or branded DMS systems, according to Market Scan.

Means said the million-dollar sales record, set just days before the opening of NADA 2004, supports the idea that dealers of every size and franchise type are recognizing Market Scan as more than the provider of lease and purchase computational software.

“We are now the leader in auto finance software and are rapidly emerging as a comprehensive interface for that dealer intent on not being left behind when the OEM and finance institutions shift gears and truly pull into the electronic highway’s passing lane,” Means said. “Our recent one-day sales record proves this in a meaningful way. The only cloud on our horizon this weekend is not being able to attend both NADA and the Daytona 24 Hours – where our cars will set the same pace as our software.”
