JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Bank of America Auto Group announced plans to open a new office in the Boston area. The office will serve as a base of operations for an initial team of 21 sales and credit associates, with plans to grow with the market's expanding needs.

The Auto Group announced its expansion into the Northeast earlier this year with operations in nine states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.

The company also made several appointments to his Northeast Region leadership team. Brent Hollingsworth was named retail sales manager. Hollingsworth joined Bank of America in 1996 and most recently managed the Group’s retail relationships in Florida. He will lead a team of retail specialists appointed to build retail market share in the region. In just the first 90 days of operating in the Northeast, nearly 250 new auto dealer client relationships have been established.

David Doucette was named commercial sales manager. He will lead a team of client managers provide commercial financial solutions for dealers in this market. Doucette was the director of corporate banking in the Specialized Industries Group for FleetBoston for three years.

John Andrews was appointed dealer services center director for the new Northeast Retail Credit Center in Boston. It is slated to open in the next few weeks as part of the company’s new Regional Office. Andrews will play an integral role in establishing the center and leading the retail credit team supporting the market. He has been with Bank of America for seven years and has over 20 years of experience in the auto and financial services industries. His was previously Bank of America's senior operations manager for the Las Vegas Retail Credit and Operations Center.
