Guidepoint Grows Dealer Base by 20 Percent

PONTIAC, Mich. -- Telematics provider GPSi announced that the number of car dealers selling its Guidepoint system expanded 20 percent in the first four months of 2004. Over 300 dealers nationwide now sell the aftermarket recovery and convenience system.

The system is available for most vehicle makes and is sold exclusively at dealerships. Drivers can track their vehicle on the Web. They can also access roadside assistance, emergency dispatch, navigation, travel and dining discounts and more.

Consumer Group Notifies Five States of Alleged Dealer Fraud

WASHINGTON -- Consumer group Public Citizen sent letters last week to officials in five states regarding alleged dealership scams in their states. The letters describe in detail the consumer complaints the group has received since releasing its report "Rip-Off Nation" in December 2003.
